Noreen C. Crowley of West Chester.

Noreen C. Crowley, 76 of West Chester, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

She was the wife of the late Dr. Florence Joseph Crowley.

Born February 3, 1939 in Rockchapel County Cork, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late James Curtin and the late Mary (Mae) Lenihan Curtin.

After immigrating at the age of seventeen, Noreen began her career at Bell Laboratories in New York City. Shortly thereafter, she enrolled in Fordham University and later completed an associate degree in accounting from West Chester University. She worked in bookkeeping and accounting for over three decades before retiring from West Goshen Township, where she had spent many years as treasurer.

Noreen also had many interests outside her professional pursuits. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she served on Parish Council and lovingly taught Catholic education classes to first-graders from the local community.

Noreen believed strongly in helping others, frequently turning her attention to countless charities, including the St. Agnes Day Room, the Veterans Association and Boys Town. Her positive, warm spirit easily attracted many friends, and she enjoyed an active social life through the West Chester Area Senior Center.

Noreen also loved gardening and, most of all, spending time with her two granddaughters.    

She is survived by her son Joseph Crowley and his wife Tyra; daughter, Maura Crowley, two granddaughters, Norah and Maeve Crowley, two sisters, four brothers and their children and grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass, 10:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19380.

Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.

Visitations will be held from 7-9 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com. and from 9-10 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the above church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Agnes Day Room 233 West Gay Street West Chester, PA  19380 and/or West Chester Area Senior Center 530 East Union St. West Chester, PA 19382.
