Mary S. Velde

Mary Velde passed away peacefully on May 15, 2015 at Homestead Village in Lancaster where she had resided since 1992 with her late husband Raymond A. Velde. 

Born in 1917, she grew up on a dairy farm in Westtown and was the daughter of Chester A. and Mary Hughes Supplee.  

She was a longtime active member of Goshen Baptist Church. 

After retiring from the housekeeping department at West Chester University, Mary enjoyed volunteering at Brandywine Hall Care Center and then later at Homestead Village in the skilled nursing center. 

Mary will be missed by her family who benefitted from her love and support. 

She is survived by her children James (Becky) of TX, Jeanne (Joe Lehmann) of MA, Margery of Lancaster, grandson Alex Lehmann (Morgan) of CA, and her sister Dorothy Zug of Quarryville.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Wilmer and Oscar Supplee and a sister Syndey Zug Price. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 2pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc. 410 N. Church St, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; where her visitation will begin at 1:00pm.

Interment will be held at Green Mount Cemetery in West Chester.
