Mary Frances "Snookie" Grubb

Mary Frances Grubb of West Chester.

Mary Frances Grubb 86 of West Chester died on Tuesday, March 25, 2015 at Brandywine Hall in West Chester. 

Affectionately known as “Snookie”, she was the sole child of the late Francis Grubb, former Chester County Chief of Detectives, and the late Joanna Meara Grubb. 

She was born in West Chester on January 29, 1929 and attended Saint Agnes School, where she graduated in 1946.  She also attended Immaculata College and Miss Eachus' Secretarial School.

Snookie spent her early years helping her father operate the Entriken Dairy Farm in Penn's Grove. She also worked at Luken's Steel in the payroll department and as a teller at the Peoples Bank of Oxford, eventually retiring from the Wachovia Bank in West Chester.

Snookie loved Chester County and had a unique collection of country dolls and local art work and furniture.  She took great pride in how she dressed.

She was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Agnes Church and was an active participant of the West Barnard Street neighborhood. 

Snookie was kind and caring and will be missed by her neighbors and friends.

She is survived by her cousin, Eileen Sheaffer of Boyton Beach, Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Saint Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; where visitation will begin at 9:00am.

Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
