Mary G. Cranston of Brookhaven, PA
Mary G. Cranston, 97, of Brookhaven, PA, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Brandywine Hall Care Center in West Chester, PA.
Mary was married for 48 years to Bart F. Cranston, Jr., who passed away in 1994. They were members of Our Lady of Charity Parish.
Born July 15, 1920, Mary was the daughter of the late Michael T. Bowes and the late Mary Houghton Bowes.
Mary graduated from Prospect Park High School and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1938.
Mary exhibited a strong Faith in God throughout her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card games, especially pinochle. Most of all Mary loved to be surrounded by family and friends.
Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Norma Bowes, Folsom, PA and five sons, Bart F. and wife Paula (O’Brien), West Chester, Joseph J. and wife Susan (Pelkey), Boothwyn, Michael T. and wife Georgina (McNamara), Greencastle, Dennis P., Haymarket, VA, David J., Kennett Square; 10 grandchildren, Kathryn M. and husband Adam C. Morrison, Bart F. and wife Candace M. (Buckman), Emily A., Briana E., David J., Michael L., Audra M., Emma C., Bridgette H., Dennis P.; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan A. Morrison, Madelyn G. Morrison, Bart F. Cranston, Elle R. Cranston, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10-11am at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19380; Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am.
Interment will be held in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
