Luigi V. "Lou" Launi of West Chester.

Luigi V. "Lou" Launi, 89 of West Chester, PA, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.

He was the husband of Mary Josephine Pirri Launi with whom he share 64 years of marriage.

Born February 18, 1928 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna Daily Launi and step-mother Rachel Launi.

Lou was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Church.

He graduated from West Chester High School.

Lou was employed at Launi Quality Beverage, and then retired from Wyeth Laboratories after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Bernhard F. Schlegel American Legion Post 134, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 853, VFW Post 106, Sons of Italy Guido Baccelli Lodge 687, First West Chester Fire Company, and was a 4th Degree with Monsignor Schuyler Knights of Columbus Council 1333, all of West Chester.

He served his country during the Korean War in the 43rd Division, 169th Infintry Regt., 2nd Battalion, Fox Company.

Lou volunteered at the Chester County Hospital for 14 years, and enjoyed vegetable gardening and woodworking.

Family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Chester County Hospital and Neighborhood Hospice that gave him such great care.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Launi (Kim) of Stephens, PA, daughter Denise Stamas (Greg) of Dallas, TX; 7 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren of PA & TX; sisters, Marie Mauro and Louise Launi.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Launi and sister, Josephine Polidore.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 9:30-11:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church at the above address and/or Chester County Hospital Foundation, 701 E. Marshall St. West Chester, PA 19380 and/or Neighborhood Health Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
