Louis P. Herley of West Chester.

Louis P. Herley, 72 of West Chester, PA died Monday, July 25, 2016 at home.

He was the husband of Eileen Higgins Herley with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born February 3, 1944 in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent R. Herley and the late Irene Kelleher Herley.

Louis served his country in the Army during Vietnam.

Louis graduated from Shanahan High School where he excelled in cross country, football, basketball and baseball, and was inducted into the Shanahan Hall of Fame. He went on and received his degree in Accounting from Temple University.

He was an Accountant for the IRS Department of Treasury for 25 years.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Coatesville VA and Neighborhood Hospice for their loving care and support during their time of need.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son John V. Herley (Meredith) of West Chester; grandchildren, Jake, Charlotte and Luke; and brother Michael B. Herley (Betty Ann) of Coatesville; nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann E. Herley.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment will be private.
