Leonard (Buddy) Maxwell, Jr.

Leonard (Buddy) Maxwell, Jr. succumbed to a lengthy debilitating illness on February 7, 2016. He was 75. He was born the son of Thelma and Leonard Maxwell, Sr. in Wilmington, DE.

Len was raised in Wilmington, DE before relocating to West Chester, PA later in life. He graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School as a commercial artist. He then went on to graduate with a BFA from the Philadelphia Museum College of Art, currently University of the Arts. 

The bulk of Len’s career was spent at National Liberty where he was head of an art department that grew to 35+ artists. For 18 years Len mentored many of his artists and copywriters who then went on to succeed in businesses of their own.

Len was a very talented landscape artist. He was always active in sports and was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed fresh water fishing as a hobby.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda and a brother, Richard Lee Maxwell of Lewes, DE. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy St. Pierre of York, Maine.

Len was a decent and gentle soul who suffered the pain of Ankylosing Spondylitis for a good part of his life but never complained. He was a good and well liked Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He touched many people's lives and will be sorely missed.

Interment will be private.
