Laura W. Smith

Laura was born July 24, 1955, daughter of Curt Wessner (deceased) and Marjorie Croft of West Chester.  She died on Dec 1, 2016 among her family/friends, at home after her diagnosis of Dementia, 7 years earlier.

She is survived by her mother Marjorie, sons Chad and Kevin, Daughter-in-Law Carolyn, grandson Luke, brother Curtis Mark and husband Bob.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Bloomsburg University, and her Master’s Degree from West Chester University.

Laura was employed as a teacher, working for Chester County IU at numerous parochial Schools Teaching Mathematics, and taught Pre-school at Barnsworth and Westminster Presbyterian schools.

Laura was a “Giver”, and active in various groups over past years, including First Presbyterian Church – Deacon, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Bible Circle, Henderson HS Ice Hockey and Prom Decorations, Boy Scouts of America, Neighborhood Bunco Group, and Alzheimer’s Association.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10-11am at First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, 130 W. Miner St. West Chester, PA 19382; followed by her funeral service at 11:00am.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Laura's memory may be made to the Adult Care of Chester County, 201 Sharp Lane,  Exton, Pa. 19341.
