Jerry and Family -- My deepest sympathies to each of you. Kate was a true champion of women's health, and contributed so much to the Women's Congressional Policy Institute during her decade of board service and beyond. She was a wonderful friend and such fun! She will be missed by so many.

Dear Jerry and family, Russ and I were so very sad to hear about Kate’death. She was an extraordinarily gifted person and a champion for so many valuable causes. She was relentless! Whenever I thought I had won Kate over to my point of view she would be back to take another run at me. I loved her for that and for her unrelenting joy of life and love for her friends.

My sincerest condolences. I knew Kate as an advocate for women's health and I attribute her and Wyeth's support for my work in advancing sex differences research. II had no idea of all the other wonderful things she had done.
She was extraordinary and I am only sorry that several years have passed since I last saw her.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
My best to the family.

I was one of Kate's friends who were roped into organizing that first Old Fashioned Christmas in Historic West Chester. The chamber of commerce asked her to recommend new holiday lighting. Instead, she created a weekend-long event that in those early years was Victorian-themed. She had a clear vision of what she wanted it to be, and she inspired all of us to hang pine garlands, decorate vacant storefronts, and even round up some kerosene lanterns for the walking tours (she specifically wanted authentic lanterns, not flashlights). She also wanted a Victorian Parade, with horses and Santa on a sleigh. Thus began the Christmas Parade that has become the highlight of the holiday season in West Chester.

Dear Jerry,
I offer my condolences on the passing of a caring woman who added sparkle and adventure to all she accomplished. She was a "blue dog Democrat": I am a "moderate Republican"--and we both believed in working "across the aisle." I valued her leadership on issues in which she believed, especially equity for women.
May you find strength in her inspiration; she will "live on in love."

I first met Kate in about 1969 and immediately fell for that big beautiful smile and upbeat personality. We stayed in touch for many years, but somehow lost touch in the mid-1990's. I was shocked and saddened to read of her death. She had such an imaginative, creative, can-do attitude that people just wanted to be in her company. I wish I had made the effort to keep in touch. What a wonderful lady and I am so fortunate to have had her in my life.
