Jose R. Ortiz of West Chester

Jose R. Ortiz, 68 of West Chester, PA, passed on Tuesday morning, October 31, 2017.

He was the husband of Sol Anelda Ortiz with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born March 19, 1949, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, he later moved to West Chester. He was the son of the late Santiago Ortiz and the late Carmen Vega.

He worked at National Rolling Mill prior to his retirement.

Jose was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Always with a warm greeting and smile, he always made sure that everyone was taken care of first. His children and grandchildren were always in his heart and on his mind. His eyes lit up each time he talked to them or when he spoke about them. Jose had a quiet strength that he shared with his family and close friends. He was a huge sports fan all his life. He loved nature and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Wanda I. Rodriguez, son Felix L. Rodriguez, and grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, November 6, 2017, from 9 am to 11 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380; 610-696-1181; www.DellaFH.com. With his Funeral Litergy beginning at 11 am.

Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
