I have just seen Joel's history in the Voice. It has been a long time since I worked with Joel calling him or sending downstate Delaware patient's to his care at AI.  When I spoke with him on the phone, he always had a great sense of humor and a great fund of knowledge to assist with children's care.  If the kids were sent to AI, it was comforting to know that the sickest kids had the best of care.  Those days in the late 70's  & 80's were without many vaccines to protect children from many serious infections.  Joel was always appreciated and will be missed. We wish his family the best at this most difficult time.    Steve Schlesinger   Dover

HEARD THE NEWS FROM KJ. TUCK AND I SEND OUR MOST SINCERE SYMPATHIES. SORRY JOEL COULD NOT HAVE LIVED LONGER TO ENJOY HIS RETIREMENT. HE HAD AN EXEMPLARY LIFE-DEVOTING HIMSELF TO SAVING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN. WE WILL NEVER FORGET HIS SENSE OF HUMOR. HE WAS A FINE GENTLEMAN, GENTLE MAN, AND SCHOLAR. HE WAS INDEED A GRAND ROLE MODEL. GOD BLESS ALL OF THE KLEIN CLAN. BETTY AND TUCK CRAVEN
