Jerry A. "Uncle Jerry" Aperghis, 63 of Drexel Hill, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alex Aperghis and the late Dina Papadoupoulos Aperghis
He was a 1966 graduate of Upper Darby High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Uncle Jerry was an Electronic Technician for Sperry Univac for 15 years. He then went on to work as a sales associate for both K-Mart and Home Depot in Broomall for many years.
Uncle Jerry enjoyed music and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his brother, John A. Aperghis and his wife Karen of Glenmoore, nieces, Valerie Hartz and her husband Ted of West Chester, Sharon Reilly and her husband Jason of Audubon, NJ, and Adrienne Kavanagh and her husband Brian of Wayne. He is also survived by his great-nieces and nephews; Megan, Eliana, T.J. and Calista.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his Memorial Service, 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380. 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com, where visitation will begin at 3:00 pm.
Interment will be private.
