Welcome to the memorial page for

Helen L. Sudnick

December 6, 1941 ~ May 19, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Helen L. Sudnick, of Chester County

Helen L. Sudnick, 75, resident of Hillview in Valley Township, died peacefully surrounded by friends and family on May 19, 2017.

Born on December 6, 1941 in Darby, PA, she was the daughter o the late John S. and the late Helen M. Benditt Nuyianes.

She was the wife to Edward L. Sudnick for over 50 years.

Family and friends were Helen's passion and delight.  She loved to host, entertain, play bridge, and spend time in the garden.  She led many food drives and participated in many other community activities to help people in need. Helen enjoyed decorating. She was the owner of Designs Within an interior design company. Helen was on the National Board of Directors of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) and past President of the Philadelphia Chapter.  She was the Queen of the Ruby Gems Red Hats of Hillview.  Helen graduated from West Catholic High School and attended Penn State University.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Howard J. (Catherine R.) Buck and Renée S. (Christopher) Nussbaumer; grandchildren Amber R. (Joseph M.) Cruise, Sydney L. Buck, Alexis D. Nussbaumer and Zackary C. Nussbaumer; sisters Cecilia Nuyianes, Susan Green, Marie (Daniel) McKelvey, and Joan (Ricardo) Cordon.  She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Buck.

Helen would like to let you know that her work here is done.  She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning.  This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she can be socializing, dancing, gardening and reading to her heart's content. Music, love and laughter is guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce.  She left detailed instructions to her husband and children to celebrate and to thank everyone for being a part of her life.  Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends.  She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. We invite you to join us and celebrate together.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4pm-7pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380; 610-696-1181;www.DellaFH.com.  Her Eulogy will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville, PA 19320 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am.
