Ethel H. Wood of Downingtown.

Ethel H. Wood, 89 of Downingtown, PA passed away at home on August 20, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Frederick R. Wood with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Born January 11, 1928 in Coatesville, PA she was the daughter of the late George Hayburn and the late Esther Wert Hayburn.

Ethel graduated from Coatesville High School in Coatesville. She was a homemaker, while her daughters were young. Then, worked at Mary C. Howse Elementary School for 28 years, before retiring.

She is survived by her daughters, Toni Wood Fritz, Terri S. Wood, son in law Wesley W. Fritz and grandson Tyler A. Fritz.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, John “Brad” Fritz and her sister, Joanne Cook.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181; www.DellaFH.com.; followed by her Memorial Service at 11:00 am.

A Graveside service will be private.
