Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Early of Downingtown, PA

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Early, 87, of Downingtown, PA died Friday, May 19, 2017 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA.

Born in Altoona PA on June 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni Caputo and the late Lucia Barbarita Caputo.

She was the wife of James Arthur Early with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.      

Betty enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and was very involved in various church activities.

She volunteered with the Lady’s Auxiliary at Riddle Hospital.

Betty enjoyed playing bridge, canasta and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Albert) Treusch; Marie (Jeff) Snyder; Karen (Mark) Christy; James (Ann Marie) Early; Diane (Bill) Harris, Also, survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. 

She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Caputo.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at SS. Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. 

Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
