Edith M. Myers

Edith May Murrey St John Myers was born July 20 1940 in West Chester, PA to the late Wilson Murrey and Laura Flowers Murrey.  Edith departed this life on Oct 12 2016 at the Brandywine hospital surrounded by her children & grandchildren.  

In her childhood years, she was educated in the West Chester Area School District. She also attended St. Paul Baptist Church during this time of her life.

Edie was formerly employed throughout the years at Pepperidge farms, Kmart & Value City from which she retired.

In her leisure time, Edie really enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Her most favorite thing she LOVED was playing the card game rummy 500 with her sisters.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Isabelle, William & Daryl; 1 great grandson Zyi – Meek Hines and 1 great great grandson Jalen Washington Jr.

Edie leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons James St John of Philadelphia, PA, William St John and wife Kimo of Ocala, FL, Jeffery St John of Charleston, WV, 4 daughters Doreen St John Rice and husband Earl of Coatesville, PA, Lara Jennings and husband John of Lancaster, PA, Edith St John Fleshman and husband David of Coatesville, PA,  Jeannette St John of Ocala, FL; 33 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 6 great- great grandchildren; Her longtime companion of 32 years, George Thomas and extended family, Sandra, Jason, Rodney, Timothy, Marcus & Michelle; 3 brothers Wilson Murrey and wife Christine of West Chester, PA, Calvin Murrey and wife Sonia of New Castle, DE, Jesse Murrey and wife Lois of West Chester, PA; 5 sisters Shirley Hugan of Coatesville, Patricia Murrey of West Chester, PA, Jean Bowers and husband William of Maricopa, AZ, Laura Mc Kim of Wilmington, DE, JoLynn Murrey of Philadelphia, PA; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Though she is gone from our presence, she will never be gone from our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 9-11am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by her funeral service at 11:00am.

Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.
