Douglas Page Brandon, Sr.

Douglas Page Brandon Sr., 78, of West Chester, PA, passed away on December 8, 2017 after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail, of 53 years, and his five children: Douglas Jr. (Kimberly), Christopher (Kristin), Andrew (Christa), Barbie (Helmut) and Elizabeth (Wade), and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Cidney Brandon Spillman and Betsy Brandon Wilson.

Doug was born on May 16, 1939 in Kokomo, Indiana. He was raised in Abington, PA and graduated from Abington High School in 1957. From there, he graduated with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and was a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. He retired from Lukens Steel after a 32 year career in sales management.

Doug especially loved gardening and golfing, and was a longtime member of Pine Valley Golf Club. He was also a past member of West Chester Country Club, where he served on the Board, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, where he served as Trustee. Doug loved to entertain and spend time with family and friends. In his spare time, he volunteered at the Senior Center Second Reading bookstore and loved to support various charities. Doug was always generous and willing to help anyone in need.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 6-8pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester 610-696-1181 www. DellaFH.com. Funeral Service will be 11am on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church 130 West Miner Street West Chester. Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105, the West Chester Area Senior Center 530 East Union St. West Chester, PA 19382 or a charity of your choice.
