Charles W. "Bud" Waltz

Charles W. Waltz, 93, known to friends as “Bud,” a life long resident of West Chester, PA, passed away on Thursday,November 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. 

He was the husband of Margaret Neary Waltz, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.

Bud was born in West Chester, PA on December 31, 1923, and was the son of the late Evan W. Waltz and Miriam Morgan Waltz.

He graduated from West Chester High School in 1941 and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Bud worked for the Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company for 35 years.

Bud thoroughly enjoyed his long and fulfilling retirement, which included volunteering at Chester County Hospital, gardening, pitching on the Mens Slowpitch Softball League, and entertaining his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carl Waltz (Maria), Virginia Waltz, Linda Schaffer (John), Richard Waltz (Leslie) and Patricia Salladino (Tom), as well as seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Newman, Mark and Herbert Waltz, and his son, Charles W. Waltz, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St., West Chester PA 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester PA.
