Charles A. McNabb

Charles A. McNabb, age 73 of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Ruth Wiley McNabb.  
     
Born on April 7, 1944 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis J. McNabb and Mary Hiemenz McNabb. 
     
Charles attended Bishop Shanahan and graduated from Conestoga High School.  After marrying he settled in Downingtown and was the owner-operator of McNabb’s Service Center in Eagle. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Amelia Island Florida for the winters and spent their summers on the Chesapeake Bay in Earleville, Maryland.  
     
Charles was a past member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Downingtown and attended St. Michael’s in Fernandina Beach.  
     
He enjoyed all things related to the outdoors.  Being on the water was the most enjoyable; boating, fishing, crabbing and just relaxing.  He always looked forward to our annual family crab feast at the Bay.  
     
Charles leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ruth Wiley McNabb and their three children.  Michael F. McNabb  and his wife Susan of Chester Springs, Pa., Christine L. Smith of Charleston, SC., and Pamela A. McNabb of Chattanooga, Tn.  In addition, his 2 brothers, John T. McNabb of Schwenksville, Pa. and James H. McNabb of Paoli, Pa.  He also leaves behind 5 grandsons; Ryan McNabb, Colin McNabb, Samuel Smith, Ben Smith and Charles Knox McNabb, and several nieces and nephews.  
     
He was preceded in death by his brother, Francis H. McNabb, three nephews; Herbert H. Wiley III, Erik McNabb and Bryan McNabb.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 1st at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, 19380 www.DellaFH.com 610-696-1181. Visitation from 11am-12pm and Service at 12pm.  Interment will be private
