Welcome to the memorial page for

Antoinette M. "Toni" (Clementi) Moran

June 13, 1933 ~ February 1, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Antoinette “Toni” Marie (Clementi) Moran, went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2016 surrounded by her family at Chester County Hospital.

She was born in West Chester to the late Raffaele and Francesca DiSanti Clementi who immigrated from Italy in the late 1920’s, and on June 13, 1933, the Feast of St. Anthony and thus named Antoinette.

She was the loving wife of Daniel J. Moran, Jr., and they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 4, 2016.

Toni graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1951 and was a life member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she was baptized, received the sacraments and was married.

She was employed by John G. Merkel & Sons, a medical supply company in Wilmington, DE, as a bookkeeper for 20 years, Mr. Edward Locke Public Accountant in West Chester and in the office of Giunta’s Thriftway in West Chester for 10 years prior to her retirement.

Her mother lived with Dan and Toni, and she cared for the needs of her mother and mother-in-law into their elder years.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and she and her husband entertained family and friends for many years of holiday meals.  Her “Lemon Squares” were enjoyed by many, especially the many physicians who cared for her prior to her present illness.

Toni also enjoyed traveling in the United States and overseas. She visited relatives in Italy many times as well as the Holy Land with the Kolve Club in 1996.

She and Dan renewed their marriage vows at Cana and carried the cross along the “Via Dolorosa” in Jerusalem and were baptized in the Jordan River.

Upon their retirement, she and her husband attended daily mass at St. Agnes Church, where she led the Rosary and Mercy Chaplet after mass.

Toni was a gregarious person and made friends easily.  She was active in her younger years with Barnard Street functions and often assisted older residents with special needs.

She had a sharp mind and was a whiz doing cryptograms from the newspaper.

She is survived by her devoted husband Dan, who was her excellent caregiver in her recent illness, and her loving sister Col. Mary F. Clementi USAF, NC (Ret) of West Chester, cousins James DiSante of Downingtown, and Anthony DiSanti of Mifflinburg, brother-in-law Raymond Moran, Sr. and his family of West Chester and many cousins in Italy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant sister, Concetta.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00pm.
